Drupal modules & themes on ox4.org

Drupal works by by having a number of components. In Drupal-speak these are called modules. There are two types of module:

  • Core modules come with every installation. Some of these are vital to making Drupal work, others are options.
  • Contributed modules are plugins for Drupal that extend, build or enhance Drupal core functionality.

There are also a number of Drupal themes that control how your site looks. As with modules, some of the themes are part of Drupal's core, and there are many others that are contributed.

Here's a list of core modules, contributed modules, core themes, and contributed themes currently installed on ox4.org.

Core modules

  • Aggregator: Aggregates syndicated content (RSS, RDF, and Atom feeds).
  • Block: Controls the boxes that are displayed around the main content.
  • Blog: Enables keeping easily and regularly updated user web pages or blogs.
  • Blog API: Allows users to post content using applications that support XML-RPC blog APIs.
  • Book: Allows users to structure site pages in a hierarchy or outline.
  • Color: Allows the user to change the color scheme of certain themes.
  • Comment: Allows users to comment on and discuss published content.
  • Contact: Enables the use of both personal and site-wide contact forms.
  • Content translation: Allows content to be translated into different languages.
  • Database logging: Logs and records system events to the database.
  • Filter: Handles the filtering of content in preparation for display.
  • Forum: Enables threaded discussions about general topics.
  • Help: Manages the display of online help.
  • Locale: Adds language handling functionality and enables the translation of the user interface to languages other than English.
  • Menu: Allows administrators to customize the site navigation menu.
  • Node: Allows content to be submitted to the site and displayed on pages.
  • OpenID: Allows users to log into your site using OpenID.
  • Path: Allows users to rename URLs.
  • PHP filter: Allows embedded PHP code/snippets to be evaluated.
  • Ping: Alerts other sites when your site has been updated.
  • Poll: Allows your site to capture votes on different topics in the form of multiple choice questions.
  • Profile: Supports configurable user profiles.
  • Search: Enables site-wide keyword searching.
  • Statistics: Logs access statistics for your site.
  • Syslog: Logs and records system events to syslog.
  • System: Handles general site configuration for administrators.
  • Taxonomy: Enables the categorization of content.
  • Throttle: Handles the auto-throttling mechanism, to control site congestion.
  • Tracker: Enables tracking of recent posts for users.
  • Trigger: Enables actions to be fired on certain system events, such as when new content is created.
  • Update status: Checks the status of available updates for Drupal and your installed modules and themes.
  • Upload: Allows users to upload and attach files to content.
  • User: Manages the user registration and login system.

  • AddToAny: Helps readers share, bookmark, and email your posts and pages using any service, such as Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, Digg, and over 100 more using the AddToAny sharing button.
  • Admin: UI helpers for Drupal admins and managers.
  • Administration menu: Provides a dropdown menu to most administrative tasks and other common destinations (to users with the proper permissions).
  • Admin Role: Automatically assign all permissions to an admin role.
  • Advanced help: Allow advanced help and documentation.
  • Autoload: Helper module to autoload classes under PHP 5.
  • 404 Blocks: On a 404 page, ensure blocks and Primary links are displayed properly.
  • Calendar: Views plugin to display views containing dates as Calendars.
  • CAPTCHA: Base CAPTCHA module for adding challenges to arbitrary forms.
  • Content Construction Kit (CCK): Allows administrators to define new content types.
  • Comment displays: Extended comment display options
  • Checkbox Validate: Makes checkbox fields that have been specified as required behave as required (corrects core bug).
  • Content Access: Provides flexible content access control
  • Content Taxonomy: Defines a field type for taxonomy terms
  • Chaos tools: A library of helpful tools by Merlin of Chaos.
  • Custom Error: Enables the creation of custom error pages for 404 and 403 errors, as well as redirects for 404s.
  • Date: Defines CCK date/time fields and widgets.
  • Devel: Various blocks, pages, and functions for developers.
  • Display suite: Manage the display of your data objects.
  • Email: Defines an email field type for cck
  • Embedded Media Field: Provides an engine for modules to integrate various 3rd party media content providers.
  • Event: Calendaring API, calendar display and export
  • FCKeditor: Enables the usage of FCKeditor (WYSIWYG) instead of plain text fields.
  • Feeds: Aggregates RSS/Atom/RDF feeds, imports CSV files and more.
  • FileField: Defines a file field type.
  • GeSHi Filter: Provides a filter to highlight source code using the GeSHi library (Generic Syntax Highlighter)
  • Global Redirect: Searches for an alias of the current URL and 301 redirects if found. Stops duplicate content arising when path module is enabled.
  • Heartbeat activity: Logs user activity when certain events occur, triggering actions. The logged data is accessable through heartbeat displays.
  • ImageAPI: ImageAPI supporting multiple toolkits.
  • ImageCache: Dynamic image manipulator and cache.
  • ImageField: Defines an image field type.
  • IMCE: An image/file uploader and browser supporting personal directories and user quota.

  • jQuery UI: Provides the jQuery UI plug-in to other Drupal modules.

  • Views cloud: Allows views and summaries to be displayed as clouds of weighted items.

  • Webform: Enables the creation of forms and questionnaires.
  • Webform Validation: Add validation rules to webforms

Core themes

  • Bluemarine: Table-based multi-column theme with a marine and ash color scheme.
  • Chameleon: Minimalist tabled theme with light colors.
  • Garland: Tableless, recolorable, multi-column, fluid width theme (default).
  • Pushbutton: Tabled, multi-column theme in blue and orange tones.

  • RootCandy: Administration theme
  • Rubik: Clean admin theme.
  • Tao: Tao is a base theme that is all about going with the flow. It takes care of key reset and utility tasks so that sub-themes can get on with their job.
